Big Eddy River Day
July 23, 2022 10:00am - 3:00pm | Big Eddy Public Water Access
Join us for fun in the sun at the Skykomish River! Bring your swim gear, towels, sunscreen, and an ice chest of your favorite snacks/drinks + come relax with us at the Big Eddy!
Located 2.5 miles upriver from Gold Bar, the deep waters, slow moving current, and sandy beaches at Big Eddy Park make for one of the Skykomish River’s best swimming holes. Specifically, under the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad bridge, two pools have been carved out to create safe waters for even the youngest of kids.
Important things to note:
- Discover Passes are required to park and use the Eddy. We recommend getting your pass in advance. There is a Day Pass or a Year Pass to choose from. Buy yours online HERE or in person at your local licensing shop.
- This is a popular swimming spot, especially during summer. The earlier you arrive, the better chances you have at finding parking. The lots can and will fill up on a hot summer day!
- the turquoise waters of the Skykomish River are fed from the high peaks of the Cascade Mountains and can be surprisingly cold year-round.
